Ashtabula County

Ashtabula county is the northeasternmost county in Ohio with Jefferson serving as the county seat. The county population on July 1, 1999, was 103,344, an increase of 3,464 over the 1990 census.

Attractions include the Adventure Zone in Geneva-on-the-Lake, the Ashtabula Arts Center, the Ashtabula County Covered Bridge Festival in Jefferson and held at the Ashtabula County Fairgrounds on the 2nd full weekend in October, the Ashtabula County Fair also in Jefferson and held on the first Tuesday through Sunday of August and the Ashtabula Harbor Light, established in 1836, and rebuilt again in 1905 and 1916.
