Marion County

Marion county is located in central Ohio north of Columbus and calls the city of Marion its county seat. The county population on July 1, 1999, was 66,870, an increase of 2,596 over the 1990 census.

The county'a historical assets include the Warren G. Harding House and Tomb in Marion (Harding was America's 29th President), the Caledonia Bowstring Bridge and Wyatt's Tavern-Fort Morrow near Waldo.

Although the county is virtually devoid of lakes of any size, two rivers flow from north to south--the Little Scioto in the western portion and the Olentangy in the east.
