The town is one of many oil boomtowns of the early 1900s and supports the Triangle Heritage Museum and its various displays.
Area recreational opportunities include nearby Walnut Creek State Park, the Cimarron River, Keystone Lake and Lake Keystone State Park.
The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 3,064, a decrease of 92 since 1990.
