Trinity Episcopal Cathedral |
This historic neighbor of the Capitol building, modeled after England's York Minster, was consecrated in 1847. It was miraculously spared when Sherman burned Columbia in 1865. Today, it is one of the 20 largest Episcopal churches in the nation. Six governors are buried in its churchyard. Guided tours available Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. from mid-March to May and again in September through November.
