This research and archival agency at Augustana College is dedicated to 'preserving the history and cultures of the Northern Prairie Plains,' housing an extensive Western Americana library and archives. Artwork by Norman Rockwell, Oscar Howe, Roger Preuss and others are featured in the gallery. With over 60 publications to its credit, the Center is also the largest academic publisher in the state.
Now housed in the new Fantle Building, over 200 archival collections, over 35,000 volumes dealing with the Amercan West, and an extensive art and artifact collection that includes exhibits of Native American and Scandinavian cultures comprise the Center's holdings.
