Housed in a multi-level, ship-shaped structure, Nauticus offers a variety of high-tech interactive exhibits and shows designed to educate visitors about nautical themes such as shipbuilding, navigation, world commerce, the US Navy and environmental science. Visitors may also tour visiting ships docked outside at the Nautilus International Pier. Features include a virtual-reality submarine experience and a naval battle simulation. Also on the site are the 350-seat Nautilus Theater -- its screen opens to reveal the Norfolk Harbor -- and the Hampton Roads Naval Museum. Hours vary seasonally; call for schedule.
