Located within the Medicine Bow National Forest, the Huston Park Wilderness area was founded in 1984. Covering about 30,726 acres of forested land, the area is at a high elevation, about 10,500 ft. Many trees grow inside the wilderness, including Spruce, Fir, Alpine, Lodgepole Pine, and Aspen. There are a few streams within the area, and a few contain fish.
The Huston Park Trail/Continental Divide National Scenic Trail provides opportunities to hike in solitude in the plentiful wilderness. This area particularly offers extraordinary panoramic, high-country views. Although it is not a constructed trail, rock cairns and blazed trees mark the way.
Huston Park is located primarily within Albany County in the Laramie Mountains.
