Easton

Easton is located in Fairfield County northwest of Bridgeport between Bridgeport and Redding Ridge along Highway 58 near Easton Reservoir. Home of Silverman's Farm!

Easton has had some well-known residents such as: Edna Ferber, Writer and Ida M. Tarbell, Muckraking Writer.

Starting off as land of the Aspetuck Indians, Fairfield would purchase this land for thirty pounds and an amount of trucking cloth. In 1762 the parish of North Fairfield would be established, later in the year 1787 the parishes of North Fairfield and Norfield would form into the town of Weston. The former parish of North Fairfield in 1845 would divide from Weston and become Easton. It is still governed by the town meeting.

Local attractions include: Easton Reservoir, Hemlock Reservoir, Aspetuck Reservoir, Saugatuck Reservoir, Mirror Lake, Canoe Brook Lake, Samp Mortar Reservoir, Pequannock River, Mill River, Putnam Memorial State Park, and Collis P. Huntington State Park. In 1845 the former parish of North Fairfield was divided from Weston and became Easton. It is still governed by the town meeting.
