Located on the west coast of the Saanich Peninsula, Brentwood Bay offers shopping, dining, fishing, marinas and services. Its ferry can be taken across the Saanich Inlet to Mill Bay north of Victoria, instead of driving along Highway 17. Near the village is an interesting collection of butterflies and moths. Visit other areas of the Saanich Peninsula such as beaches, the Ocean Sciences Center, and the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory. Go picnicking and swimming at Coles Bay or Elk/Beaver Lake Park; hike Mount Newton in John Dean Park; wade, water ski or beachcomb at Island View Beach. There are a number of Cities in Metropolitan Victoria BC.

Seattle Japanese Cultural Festival Seattle WA April26-28 The festival features Japanese exhibits, performances, and demonstrations. Held at the Seattle Center in the Fisher Pavilion. The annual festival began in 1976 with a gift of 1,000 cherry trees to the city of Seattle from the Japanese government to celebrate the U.S. Bicentennial.
