Cone's Dike Trail begins near the visitor center off Jackson's Gap Trail. The hike is an 8.25 mile hike or bike ride along a beautiful old earthen dam created by 20th century cattle ranchers. The dike incises the prairie offering an up close view of the mixed forest and marshland. This is one of the park's longest trails and offers a good opportunity to view the abundant wildlife including sandhill cranes, egrets, herons, white-tailed deer, wild turkey, bobcat, and gray fox.
