Flatwoods Pine Trail is aptly named. The trail is 1.5 miles long and begins just north of the park entrance about 100 feet. It travels through the driest area of the park looping down to the park road immediately north of the boat launch area. In addition to the pines, the forest is sprinkled with live oaks and saw palmettos. The area is habitat for a variety of songbirds including mockingbirds, nuthatches, and thrushes.
