Peace River Trail is a good hike for enjoying sights of the confluence of Peace River and Paynes Creek. This 1.5-mile loop trail is through a floodplain forest that can flood during times of wetter seasons. Anglers enjoy fishing all along the banks of both bodies of water usually catching bass, bream and catfish. Snook and mullet have also been pulled from the waters. Canoeing from the trailheads over to Peace River is a pleasant and quiet journey. This cartop launch also serves as a launching site for the 63-mile Peace River Canoe Trail through central Florida.
