Located in north central Illinois in Marshall County along nearly 10 miles of scenic Illinois River backwaters, the largest tract of the Marshall State Fish and Wildlife Area is east of the river adjacent to Highway 26. Bottomlands and bluffs support a variety of animals, plants, and outdoor pursuits including picnicking, camping, fishing, hunting, and hiking. Migrating waterfowl, great blue herons, and bald eagles provide birders exceptional viewing opportunities.
