Sand Ridge State Forest covers 7,500 acres; 3,916 acres of native oak-hickory forest, the 2,492 acres of pine, and the rest in open fields and sand prairies.
Family camping is available at the Pine Campground, which contains 27 Class C campsites featuring water, pit toilets and a sanitary dump stations, but no electricity.
Hunting and trapping is popular for deer, red and gray fox, coyote, squirrel, raccoon, quail, pheasant, woodcock and dove.
