You'll find one of the most popular fishing areas and a unique combination of natural resources in Louisiana's largest and most visited state park. The park covers over 6,000 acres of rolling hills and water in South Central Louisiana and encloses a fish-rich 2,000-acre reservoir. Mature hardwood uplands and beech-magnolis forests are complemented by a forested lake of cypress-tupelo trees.

Chicot's facilities are divided into three areas that include 200 improved campsites, backpacking camps, primitive group campsites, 27 vacation cabins, three lodges, nature/hiking/backpacking trails encircling the lake and playground.
