Located just off the Hwy 8 bypass in the restored freight yard district, the park is a collection of six renovated buildings that contain shops, a restaurant, and exhibits. In the former Boston and Maine Freight House, the visitor center chronicles the cultural history of North Adams' 19th century railroad and industrial history, and the building of the Hoosac Tunnel, an engineering feat that took 25 years and 196 lives to complete. Open daily 10am-5pm; closed January 1, Easter, Thanksgiving and December 25.
