Miami County

Miami county, formed in 1807 from a part of Montgomery county, is located in southwestern Ohio just north of Dayton and calls Troy its county seat. The county population on July 1, 1999, was 98,721, an increase of 5,537 over the 1990 census.

Among the 40 or so sites listed in the National Register of Historic Places are the Eldean Covered Bridge and Twin Arch Stone Culvert, both near Troy, the Bradford Junction Interlocking Tower and the Overfield Tavern within the Troy city limits.
