Wyandot county is located in northwestern Ohio about 50 miles north-northwest of Columbus with Upper Sandusky serving as the county seat. The county population on July 1, 1999, was 22,921, an increase of 667 over the 1990 census.South Sandusky Avenue Historic District in Upper Sandusky and Wyandot County Courthouse and Jail are among a dozen or so interesting historical sites in the county. Natural features include the Sandusky River which flows from south to north on its way to emptying into Sandusky Bay/Lake Erie.
