Henryetta

Henryetta is located in eastern Oklahoma in Okmulgee County south of Okmulgee just northwest of the intersection of Interstate 40 and U.S. Highway 62/75.

The town was the home of two famous sons--Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman and 16-time world champion bull rider Jim Shoulders. The Henryetta Territorial Museum displays Aikman's autographed jersey and Shoulders' trophy saddle. The museum itself is a former one-room schoolhouse and contains other artifacts such as a wedding dress believed to have been created in the 1850s or 60s and an old coal-burning stove. Another local attraction is the Henryetta Art Association Museum dedicated to displaying local curios of days gone by.

Recreation in the area comes in the form of Okmulgee Lake, Dripping Springs Lake and Okmulgee/Dripping Springs State Park to the north, the North Canadian River and the Canadian River to the south and Eufaula Lake and Lake Eufala State Park to the east.
