Seminole

Seminole is located in central Oklahoma in Seminole County southeast of Shawnee and Oklahoma City along U.S. Highway 270 and SR 99 about 10 miles south of Interstate 40 and the North Canadian River.

Museum-goers will marvel at the Jasmine Moran Children's Museum--a child-sized town with hands-on educational tools, the Seminole Historical Museum and the Hargis Tool Museum which houses a unique collection of antique woodworking tools, some of which were used to restore the White House in 1867.

Post-high school education is available at Seminole State College, a local community college.

The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 6,698, a decrease of 373 since 1990.
