Vian

Vian is located in eastern Oklahoma in Sequoyah County along U.S. Highway 64 and SR 82 about 10 miles west-northwest of Sallisaw, the county seat, one mile north of Interstate 40. The town is literaly surrounded by outdoor recreation areas including Greenleaf State Park and Lake Tenkiller State Park to the north, Brushy Creek State Park and Sallisaw State Park to the east and Robert S. Kerr Lake and the Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge to the south and west, respectively. In addition, water sports can be found on the Arkansas River, the Canadian River and Lake Tenkiller--all within minutes of town.

The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 1,432, an increase of 18 since 1990.
