Portland Events, Festivals & Activities

Throughout the entertainment season, Oregon Ballet Theatre and Portland Opera produce regularly scheduled performances. Oregon Museum of Science & Industry has frequent special events throughout the year.

In February, Northwest Film Center produces the Portland International Film Festival. Cinco de Mayo is celebrated at Tom McCall Waterfront Park. Portland Rose Festival activities are found throughout Portland during the month of June. July brings the annual Waterfront Blues Festival. August is the time for the Mt Hood Jazz Festival in Gresham. The annual Greek Festival in October centers on the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. The annual Portland Marathon is rated as one of the best organized in America, and takes place on city streets on the first Sunday in October. Christmas activities are many and varied, including the ZooLights Festival at Oregon Zoo.
