The Drayton Hall is an authentic plantation house, circa 1738. The home is one of the finest examples of colonial architecture in America. This is the only plantation house left on the Ashley River that survived both the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. Guests may enjoy guided house tours as well as garden and river walks. The house offers student programs and there is a museum gift shop. Drayton Hall is an accredited museum. Special events and programs are offered at Drayton Hall throughout the year. Seasonal schedules provide information on the Friends Lecture Series, Candlelight Concerts, Spiritual Concerts, and Guided Nature Walks. Drayton Hall is located nine miles northwest of downtown Charleston. Hours of operation are seasonal; please call to inquire.
