Middleton Place

Middleton Place is one of the oldest and perhaps finest landscaped gardens in America. It is a National Historic Landmark and a carefully preserved 18th-century plantation that has survived the American Revolution, Civil War, and earthquakes. The plantation was the home of many generations of Middletons, beginning with Henry Middleton, President of the First Continental Congress. The home offers sweeping views, intimate garden rooms, and ornamental waters highlighting the gardens.

Middleton Place is located on Ashley River Road (Highway 61), just 14 miles northwest of Charleston, South Carolina. Middleton Place is owned and operated by the Middleton Place Foundation, a non-profit 501(C)(3) educational trust.

Middleton Place is open daily at 9:00 a.m.
