Mendenhall Glacier

Mendenhall Glacier is 13 miles from downtown Juneau at the end of Mendenhall Glacier Spur Rd. The glacier is 12 miles long and up to 1.5 miles wide.

There is a visitors center and trails to the edge of the lake, plus longer trails. Programs and guided hikes with USFS interpreters are offered in the summer.

There is also a salmon viewing area and trail. The renovated visitors center has a model of the glacier and displays on glacial processes, plus a small theatre.
