Fort Boykin Historic Park

The park is on the remains of an old Civil War fort that was built in the shape of a seven-point star. On the banks of the James River, the park features gardens, views of the fleet and a trail with markers. Noteworthy is the muster of peacocks on the grounds. Open daily 8am to dusk (weather permitting). Free to the public.
