At this fine example of an 18th-century sugar and rum factory

there is a storage vault underneath the windmill. Across the

road, look for the round mill, which was later used to

hold water. In the 1733 rebellion by slaves against the

planters, Catherineberg served as headquarters for Amina

warriors, a tribe of Africans captured into slavery.

It is now part of the Virgin Islands National Park.
