The towns within the county include
Saratoga,
Rawlins,
Encampment,
Riverside, and
Sinclair. The county also contains many attractions, like
Seminoe State Park, the
Medicine Bow National Forest, the Sierra Madre, and the
North Platte River. The
Red Desert also lies within the county. The highest elevations in the state are in the
Medicine Bow Mountains and
Snowy Range Scenic Byway. The best cattle raising areas in Wyoming are in the
North Platte River region of central Carbon County.
