Mat-Su Visitors Center

This visitor center is located at the junction of Parks Hwy and Glenn Hwy/Tok Cutoff just outside Palmer. The Matanuska-Susitna Valleys are rich in history and agricultural production. Lakes and rivers dot the valleys.

The valleys are surrounded by mountains in the Alaska Range, the Talkeetna Mtns, the Chugach Mtns and the Wrangell Mtns. The area is home to the Alaska State Fair, Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, Hatcher Pass Independence Mine State Historical Park gold mines and the Knik and Matanuska Glaciers.
