Ramsey Lake State Park

Once known as the "Old Fox Chase Grounds," Ramsey Lake State Park used to be a popular place for the fox and raccoon hunters to test the skill of their dogs. Today, people are drawn to the 1,880-acre site north of Vandalia (in southwestern Illinois' Fayette County) to pitch a tent, go horseback riding, do some hunting, or get in a little fishing.
